Description

Retrofit project involving a complete study of reverse engineering on medium-voltage electrical circuit-breakers 12kV 800A 40kA, VD4 model, addressed to a cement factory in Manchester, UK.

We have designed and constructed new tailor-made switchgear carriages to be implemented in the original plant, replacing the old components with the new ones, that are adapted to the most recent circuit-breakers. When possible, we have also designed and supplied a kit for the implementation of the carriage, replacing the sole circuit-breakers.
After the set-up of the upgrades, we have carried out internal factory tests, including:
A. Visual and dimensional inspection
B. Mechanical operation tests
C. Check of the electrical operation and wiring
D. Measurement of the contact resistance
E. Power frequency voltage insulation tests
F. Measurement of the insulation resistance
