Description
N. 3 switchrooms for the agrivoltaic park in Giugliano (Naples), with a total nominal power of 86.63 MW and an annual clean energy production of over 130 GWh. This will supply electricity to 48,000 households, avoiding the emission of more than 60,000 tons of CO₂ and improving crop yield and productivity.
The switchrooms are equipped with:
- MV Switchgear ATR 36kV 2500A, 25kA
- LV Switchboards and protection systems
- 100kVA auxiliary transformer
- UPS and batteries for operational continuity
- HVAC system for thermal management
The park covers an area of 130 hectares and is divided into North Field and South Field, connected by an underground medium-voltage duct bank. Over 70% of the area is dedicated to crops, while about 30% hosts photovoltaic structures with elevated panels positioned above the cultivated fields and widely spaced between rows. This configuration allows renewable energy generation without sacrificing agricultural land, while creating shading that enhances agricultural performance in hotter regions. This protection reduces thermal and water stress, improving plant health and resulting directly in higher-quality fruits and vegetables.
Additionally, a large perimeter belt of trees and shrubs will be created to preserve the landscape.
