Design, manufacturing and delivery of n. 4 switchrooms and n. 1 control room for Battery Energy Storage System - BESS, in Norwich (UK).
The project, located alongside the onshore infrastructure of the Hornsea 3 Offshore Wind Farm near Norwich, is one of the largest battery systems in Europe, with a power rating of 300 MW and an energy capacity of 600 MWh (around two hours of nominal duration). It also shares its grid connection with the offshore wind farm, further improving overall efficiency. Our scope included 4 Medium Voltage Switchrooms 33kV, 2000A, 31.5kA(3s) and 1 Control Room, equipped with:
- 36 kV MV panels
- LV panels for protection and monitoring
- Patch panels & Roxtec cabling systems
- 4G antenna, weather station, GPS
- Swicom
- Fire detection system
- HVAC
- Human interface panels
