We have designed, manufactured and supply switchrooms for the Ørsted’s first large-scale Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) in the UK.
The project, co-located with the Hornsea 3 Offshore Wind Farm onshore infrastructure near Norwich, will be among the largest battery systems in Europe:
- Power rating: 300 MW
- Energy capacity: 600 MWh (≈ 2 hours nominal duration)
- Shared grid connection with offshore wind for optimized efficiency
- MV AIS switchgear 36kV
- LV panels for protection and monitoring
- Patch panels & Roxtec cabling systems
- 4G antenna, weather station, GPS
- Swicom
- Fire detection system
- HVAC
- Human interface panels
