High-Voltage (HV) Electrical Substation 110/34.5 kV

Artemisa (Cuba)

Description

The project has involved the study, construction and start-up of an electrical substation in the province of Artemisa, in Cuba.

The hybrid gas-insulated (GIS) substation has an H scheme and consists of a 110kV field, which includes 2 incoming and 2 outgoing circuit breakers, 12 current transformers, 25MVA power transformers, disconnectors, overvoltage dischargers and auxiliary material. The substation also includes a 34.5kV field, consisting of 15 medium-voltage (MV) Normal Clad switchgear cubicles 34.5kV 1250A 25kA 60Hz, low-voltage (LV) Euro P&C panels that allow the protection and automation of the system, computer, UPS and SCADA system for supervision and monitoring, duplicated direct current system, Euro SDS switchboards 220/127V 60Hz, lighting and air-conditioning system, firefighting system, tools for the substation equipment interconnection.
